    Water damage to hardwood is common under glasses and plant pots. Here the surface had degraded in a distincive ring, leaving gaps in the grain and a stain impossible to remove. With my cosmetic repair methods the damage was successfully disguised.

    Possibly due to manufacturing issues, this laminate drawer front totally delaminated. After gluing the surface back together with water-proof glue, the remaining gaps were filled and hand painted to match the grain of the surroundings.

    These Georgian floorboards had deep chips and splits from nearly 100 years of use.The chips were repaired using thermoresins, which bond to wood extremely well and can self-repair over time. These resins are pigmented and can be mixed to match the colour of the surrounding surface.

    Common on ceramic and stone stair nosings, chips like this one can be repaired convincingly with the correct methods. Nosings are almost always custom made to match each stair tread; repairing rather than replacing can save thousands.

    These glazed porcelain tiles cracked where the tile backer had moved over time, looking unsightly and allowing water behind them. By filling the cracks with a strong ceramic resin filler, and re-enamelling the tiles with a colour matched lacquer, the cracks disappeared, and the perfect colour match left the tiles almost indistinguishable from the others.

    Here, a floor to ceiling shower tile had a hole drilled slightly too low: the circular trim couldn’t cover the entire void. The gap was filled with a strong ceramic resin, and layers of filler were built up on top to match the filleted surface. Finally the job was finished to perfection by hand-painting the pattern with waterproof paints.
