Can you repair a burnt laminate worktop?

Yes — burn repairs are one of the most common jobs I do. The charred or discoloured area is carefully excavated, filled flush with a colour-matched resin, and the grain pattern is hand-painted back.

Will the colour match the rest of my worktop?

Accepted Answer

Colour matching is the core of what I do. I mix pigments by eye to match the exact shade, grain, and sheen of your surface. On laminate, this involves replicating the printed grain pattern by hand. The match is typically very close — the main variable is the lighting. Colours mixed under daylight can look slightly different under a lightbulb. This is because pigments typically reflect a narrow wavelength band, if the light source is deficient in that wavelength, that pigment will look washed out.

Can you repair a worktop that's delaminating or peeling?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Delamination and edge-peel are among the most common repairs. I re-bond the surface using waterproof adhesive, clamp, and touch up the finish. As long as the substrate is kept as dry as possible beforehand, the repair is possible.

Can you repair engineered wood or hardwood flooring?

Accepted Answer

Yes — both engineered wood and solid hardwood can be repaired. For isolated chips or gouges, I fill and hand-grain the repair to blend. For water damage, surface swelling, or delamination, the approach depends on the severity. Whole-floor refinishing is outside my scope, but isolated damage is ideal for repair.

Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons people call me. A cosmetic repair is almost always faster, cheaper, and less disruptive than a landlord claiming replacement costs. I can usually visit within a few days.

Do you work on furniture and cabinets as well as floors and worktops?

Accepted Answer

Yes — I repair any laminate or wood surface: kitchen cabinets, wardrobe doors, bedside tables, drawer fronts, skirting boards. If it's laminate or wood and it's in a London home, send a photo.
